Thomas ”Tom” Carling

The family of Thomas Joseph Carling is saddened to announce his sudden passing at 70 years of age on January 16th, 2023 after a brief illness.

Tom was born on March 10th, 1952 to Walter and Pearl (Laforce) Carling, setting a record for the biggest baby (to date) born at the Buckingham, Quebec hospital.  Tom continued to make a big impression on people throughout his life, in particular the love of his life Catherine McLeod, whom he married in November of 1974.

Tom retired in 2002 from his career as the manager of parks and trees for the City of Ottawa and continued to work on the small family business with his sons Ryan and Jesse on their beloved homestead in Mulgrave, QC.

Tom enjoyed socializing with his many friends, fishing, and hosting tours around Lac La Blanche on his pontoon boat.  He always had time to lend a hand, share his vast knowledge, and to laugh and tell stories.

Tom is survived by his wife Cathy, sons Ryan (Angie) and Jesse (Mary), grandchildren Reese and Jack, his siblings Gail (Dan) and Terry, extended family and countless friends.

A celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, January 28th 2023, 3:00 pm, at the Hill & Gully Riders Club on Inlet Road in Mulgrave QC.
